Advocacy

At Harbor Dental Society, we believe that a strong dental community begins with a strong voice.

Through organized dentistry and collaboration with the California Dental Association (CDA) and American Dental Association (ADA), Harbor Dental Society helps connect members with advocacy initiatives and opportunities to engage in issues affecting the dental profession.

From dental benefit policies and access to care to professional regulations and patient protections, we are committed to keeping our members informed and engaged in the conversations shaping the future of dentistry.

Why Advocacy Matters
Decisions made at the local, state, and national levels can directly affect dental practices, patient care, and the future of the profession.

Advocacy gives dental professionals an opportunity to share their experiences, communicate with policymakers, and contribute to discussions about legislation and regulations affecting dentistry.

Key Advocacy Areas

Access to Dental Care
Supporting conversations and initiatives focused on improving access to oral health services, including care for underserved communities.
Dental Benefit Plans
Engaging issues around insurance, reimbursement policies, and the relationship between dental practices, benefit plans, and patients.

Practice & Regulations
Staying informed about legislation, licensing requirements, professional standards, and regulations affecting dental professionals.

Oral Health & Public Policy
Promoting awareness of oral health issues and the importance of dentistry in the broader health care system.
