A Look Back at Harbor's Mentorship Study Club

There's a lot to learn about building a successful career in dentistry that isn't always covered in dental school, especially when it comes to managing your finances and planning for the future!

On October 23, we brought early-career dentists together at Harbor Dental Society for an evening of learning, honest conversations, and practical advice with Christopher R. Caira, ChFC, CFS, BFA.

From navigating taxes and planning for retirement to making smarter financial decisions throughout your career, Christopher covered topics that dentists often have to figure out on their own.

One of our favorite moments of the evening came when an attendee shared that much of the information presented was something they had spent time piecing together through conversations with different people. Having it all explained in one evening made the experience especially valuable.

And that's exactly what we hope to create with our Mentorship Study Club: a space where early-career dentists can ask questions, learn from experienced professionals, connect with fellow dentists, and walk away with information they can actually use.

A huge thank-you to Christopher for sharing his knowledge and to everyone who joined us! We loved the conversations and look forward to bringing our members more opportunities like this.

Harbor Dental Society's 2026 President's Reception

On September 16, 2026, Harbor Dental Society welcomed members and colleagues to Ballast Point in Long Beach for an evening of celebration, connection, and new beginnings.

Set against beautiful waterfront views, the President's Reception was an opportunity to welcome Dr. Telles as Harbor Dental Society's President and introduce Joel, our new Executive Director (currently former as of late October 2026). Members gathered to reconnect with familiar faces, meet new colleagues, and celebrate an exciting new chapter for Harbor. 

The evening was filled with great conversations, laughter, and a shared appreciation for the dental community that brings us together.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating our leadership and the continued growth of Harbor Dental Society. We look forward to another year of meaningful connections, professional development, and opportunities to strengthen our dental community.
